Freedom’s Sarah Platt Ends Hersey Season With Strong Performance Against Conant

Hersey’s season ended Saturday afternoon as they lost against a very talented Conant team 8-1. The Conant team is loaded with 6 All-Conference selections and at least 2 players headed for Division 1 programs.

Against this tough team, Hersey, and Lake County Freedom pitcher, Sarah Platt, held her own. Platt gave up 9 hits however many could have been outs. Hersey also allowed 4 errors. Platt helped herself by going 2-3 in the contest and driving in the lone Hersey run.

Platt ended her high school season with a .477 batting average in the 16 MSL conference games and a .435 batting average overall. She also had a .525 on base percentage, and a .753 slugging percentage with 12 doubles, 2 triples, and 5 home runs. Sh had only one error for the season.

Platt helped her Hersey team to it’s first regional playoff victory in the past 6 seasons.

Hersey’s improved it’s record to 18-18 from only 10 wins last season.
