Lake County Freedom middle infielder, Mallory Klotz, earned All Woodland (Blue) Conference honors Thursday night at the New Berlin West Sports awards night.
Klotz who is the starting shortstop and batted lead-off for the Lady Vikings, had a team high .544 batting average with a .656 and .824 on-base and slugging percentage respectively. Klotz had 37 hits including 7 doubles, 3 triples and 2 home runs.
The speedy Klotz is a natural lefty who can slap, bunt, and also hit for power. Her quick base running speed allowed her to steal 33 bases on 34 attempts this season, also a team record.
Klotz efforts this year and last contributed to the Vikings record of 37-9 over the past 2 season and their first regional championship in 25 years.
Klotz who also bats lead-off and plays middle infield for the Freedom currently leads the team in extra base hits and is tied for the lead in walks.
