Freedom Defeats Bash, Loses Klotz for 2-8 Weeks

The Lake County Freedom defeated the Illinois Bash 15-4 Friday morning but lost their starting 2nd base person, and lead-off batter, Mallory Klotz in the process.

Klotz who leads the Freedom with an on base plus slugging percentage of 1.044 chipped a bone in her hand as she slid hard into third on a successful stolen base attempt in the 2nd inning.

X-rays confirmed the chipped bone and the doctors gave Klotz a 2-8 week recovery time.

The Freedom went on to win the game against the Illinois Bash with a solid pitching performance from starting pitcher Randee Jackson and relief work by Sarah Platt.

The Freedom out hit the Bash 12-2 with two doubles by Lee Fisher and a triple by Nikki Mikosz
